Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement electrical and commissioning site delivery strategies, plans, and schedules for WCS projects.
  • Ensure accurate cost estimation and detailed Bills of Material (BOM) are prepared for each bid.
  • Lead the electrical and the commissioning teams, assigning tasks and providing technical guidance to ensure successful multiple projects execution.
  • Innovate and improve the processes of electrical and commissioning works activities on site utilizing the lessons learnt from previous projects executed.
  • Create the forecast of the projects time to time and report to Senior management
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, and operations teams to align commissioning activities with overall project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during commissioning activities.
  • Conduct system performance tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and review commissioning documentation, reports, and technical records.
  • Provide training and mentorship to commissioning engineers and junior staff.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and timePerform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics or Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commissioning for ports, terminals, or industrial facilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing teams and coordinating cross-functional activities.
  • Proficiency in commissioning tools, control systems, and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and international electrical standards.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the electrical installation and commissioning works process for all WCS projects. This role ensures the detailed scoping, accurate estimating and deployment of appropriate staff for the smooth execution of all electrical and electronic activities, adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders. The incumbent provides technical leadership, supervises electrical and commissioning engineers and subcontractors and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget. The roles also requires contribution to prepare project cost proposals to submit to clients through the WCS approved channels.
