Description

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Electrical Trade Qualification (essential)
  • HV Switching Certification with proven hands-on experience
  • Minimum 5 years in HV electrical networks, preferably transmission/distribution
  • Strong knowledge of HV maintenance, electrical standards (AS3000, WHS, Electricity Act)
  • Experience with Siemens GIS switchgear (desirable) and SAP
  • Excellent problem-solving and ability to prioritise
  • Able to work independently and within diverse teams
  • Committed to safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support site operations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Lead troubleshooting, audits, incident investigations, and provide technical guidance.
  • Manage high voltage electrical equipment and coordinate shutdowns and planned outages.
  • Oversee small projects and system upgrades, maintaining safe work procedures.
  • Drive maintenance strategies, condition monitoring, and reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with planners and engineers to prioritise and execute maintenance efficiently.
  • Use SAP to update asset records and support forward planning.
  • Act as the technical link between site and engineering teams for commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards, licenses, and land access requirements.
  • Mentor and coach technicians, supporting training and skills development.
