We’re the UK’s largest ports operator with a network of 21 ports around Britain. We handle around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade and contribute £7.5 billion to our economy every year.
It’s a story we’re proud of but it doesn’t end there. We’re transforming our business and embracing the future.
We offer a vast range of roles spanning the UK, all rooted in a culture that welcomes diversity, fosters talent, encourages internal movement and progression, and places safety as our number one priority.
Associated British Ports (ABP) is both a major landlord and port operator with 21 port locations in the UK. Our Port of Ayr contributes £28m to the local economy, handling 340,000 tonnes of product including timber, agribulks and construction materials. We’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Technician from either an industrial or heavy commercial background to join the small team and play a key role in the maintenance of our electrical assets across our ports in Ayr & Troon. You’ll need to have experience of 3-phase motor driven equipment and experience of HV and mechanical assets would be an advantage. The role involves working at height, working near water and in confined spaces and is a Monday through Friday role working 0800 - 1700 (1600 finish on Friday), with some weekend and overtime work required occasionally.
