JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The electrical technician co-op will gain foundational knowledge in electrical systems, troubleshooting, and PLC programming by working alongside skilled electrical technicians in an automotive manufacturing facility. Participants will assist in real-world projects including electrical installation, system maintenance, equipment repair, and blueprint interpretation. This position is designed to provide valuable, practical experience to students pursuing a career in electrical or automation technologies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist engineering technicians and the electrical team in daily tasks and project execution.
  • Gain hands-on experience with various electrical systems in an automotive manufacturing facility.
  • Learn to interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Support material sourcing, inventory management, and preparation for facility maintenance projects.
  • Assist with the installation, wiring, and setup of electrical components and systems.
  • Participate in programming and troubleshooting of PLC systems using relevant software and languages.
  • Help diagnose and repair electrical equipment, including motors, sensors, and control system components.
  • Observe and practice electrical troubleshooting techniques under supervision.
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols and electrical safety regulations.
  • Use hand and power tools properly and safely for electrical tasks.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Currently pursuing a skilled trades certification or associates degree in electrical, robotics, engineering technology or related engineering field fulltime.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours each week year-round.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
