JOB SUMMARY

The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane and butane.

The Norsea Terminal is currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician (staff position).
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment/components/machines and other electrical elements to achieve optimum efficiency and availability

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant approved apprenticeship/NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum City & Guilds/ ONC certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX legislation
  • Extensive experience in a maintenance role within the oil and gas industry
  • Hold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP
  • Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role (Work at Height, Work in Confined Spaces, Ability to wear Breathing Apparatus)
Responsibilities
  • To interpret job requirements from preventative maintenance instruction, specifications and / or other documentation
  • Install electrical equipment in accordance with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, procedures and guidelines
  • To maintain and repair electrical equipment with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, with established PM routines, procedures and guidelines
  • Support the ISSOW process and adopt the role of Permit Acceptor as appropriate
  • Provide feedback on all maintenance tasks to allow collation of asset history
  • Diagnose physical cause of electrical equipment breakdown / failure and propose / complete repairs to the site standards and engage technical resources as needed to support operations
  • Generate SAP Material Requisition for work orders and projects
  • Create SAP notifications for defects
  • Assist in reviews and development of relevant procedures, PM routines and risk assessments
  • Respond to any out of hours call out
  • Assist the planning department in the planning of PM01 and PM02 jobs as directed by the supervisor, as part of fallback work
  • Prepare jobs for execution in support of the schedule under direction, as part of fallback work including but not limited to checking scaffold, withdrawing spares, preparing tools etcUndertake and record After Action Reviews to improve job planning and execution
