Description:
We are currently looking for an Electrical Technician in our converting area to join us at our manufacturing site in Prudhoe near Newcastle.
Are you an engineer or technician looking for an expanding manufacturing company to continue your electrical career? Seeking the security of a permanent position with a competitive salary and excellent benefits?
If so, we are keen to hear from you, as we have an exciting opportunity that may be what you are looking for.
Our Prudhoe Mill, the largest UK site, produces famous household products such as Velvet and Cushelle. Making paper and converting it into the final product all takes place on site, and as the town’s biggest employer, the Prudhoe Mill plays an important role in helping the local community to thrive.
You will bring with you experience of PLCs, either Siemens or Allen Bradley controlled equipment, servo inverter drives, and a ‘fix it for good’ mentality. You will also need to be comfortable working with large-scale plant and machinery and have a passion for safety.
Responsibilities:
The Technician is responsible for defined maintenance activities in the Converting Production area. The role involves maintaining machines based on preventive and predictive maintenance concepts. It includes troubleshooting technical problems and solving these problems using the Daily Direction Setting approach and Root Cause Analysis. The technician supports and coaches the Shift E&I colleagues in handling technical issues.
At Essity, we work towards a zero-breakdown and zero-stop mentality, aiming to reduce maintenance costs, including working capital reduction for spare parts. You will take ownership of key maintenance metrics such as breakdowns and have a strong service-department mindset towards operations and other departments.
You will perform high-quality Root Cause Analysis for technical and process problems, TPM, and Gap Analysis to ensure your work is effective, value-adding, and contributing to your department’s results. You will suggest and implement improvements (e.g., safety, technology, process) and ensure legal compliance on maintenance works.
