Description
Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on offshore electrical systems (motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, VFDs, relays, lighting). Diagnose and repair faults in power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation. Install, test, and commission new electrical systems and equipment following offshore standards. Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and HSE protocols. Conduct risk assessments and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and reports. Support project teams in electrical design modifications and upgrades. Adhere to IEC, NEC, and Qatar Q-CERT offshore safety standards. Requirements Qualifications & Skills Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 5 years’ offshore experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of power distribution, circuit breakers, transformers, PLCs, and instrumentation. Certifications: HV/LV Electrical Safety, CompEx (preferred), IRATA awareness (if rope access involved). Familiarity with offshore safety standards and PTW systems.
