Description
SAIC is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The selected candidate will be a member of a highly motivated team providing hardware/software development, integration, and test support to the Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration (S3I) Directorate.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related and zero (0) years’ experience; Four (4) years’ of additional related work experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • The candidate must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • The candidate must have experience related in fabrication, repairing, and testing of electro-mechanical hardware (CCA’s, wiring harnesses, cables, test fixtures, LRU’s).
  • Must have a solid understanding of Electronics Theory and applications plus an ability to read and understand schematics.
  • IPC and J-Standard certification a plus.
  • Must have experience with SMT and PTH soldering and operation of basic test equipment such as meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with functional and environmental testing a plus.
  • Tactical Cable building.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Activities will include support of development, testing, and integration of special purpose electronics and cabling of launch vehicles, communications platforms, and rocket systems.
  • Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection according to electrical/electronic hardware requirements
  • Perform initial build of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
  • Build complex tactical cables with heat shrink jackets
  • Apply basic electronics engineering knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Cable/Harness Assembly to Class 3
  • Prototype layout and assembly of boards
  • Assemble quick turn test assets.
  • Familiar with Circular military connectors, wire and PCB components
  • Support all lab functions including military vehicle testing, building test assets, class 3 tactical cables, and precision measurement
