A skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Electrical Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within a refinery environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with high-voltage systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and hazardous area compliance, ensuring safe and reliable operation of critical refinery infrastructure. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, motors, MCCs, and control panels. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, contactors, and wiring systems. Maintain and repair power distribution systems, lighting circuits, and emergency backup systems. Conduct routine inspections of hazardous area electrical installations in compliance with ATEX/IECEx standards. Support installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems. Monitor and maintain grounding systems and ensure proper insulation resistance. Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals. Perform loop checks and assist in instrumentation calibration and integration. Ensure compliance with refinery safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work permits, and confined space entry. Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Technical Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (multimeter, megger, clamp meter, etc.). Strong understanding of industrial electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, API, etc.). Experience with hazardous area classification and explosion-proof equipment. Familiarity with VFDs, PLCs, and control systems used in refinery operations. Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and under high-temperature conditions. Profile Exposure to high-temperature, high-pressure, and potentially hazardous environments. Rotational shifts, on-call duties, and emergency response may be required. Mandatory use of PPE and adherence to refinery safety standards.
