Description Overview The Electrical Technician is responsible for maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and machines to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Job Functions Troubleshoot control and power circuits, motors, PLC’s. Maintain motor control centers and electrical rooms. Perform the necessary safety checks to maintain the equipment in a safe and efficient condition. Attend seminars and training programs as directed to improve electrical skills and knowledge. Must complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education annually. Coordinate repairs with scheduled downtime. Maintain safe levels of spare electrical parts for critical pieces of equipment. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments related to the process. Document and communicate observations of problem areas and potential safety hazards. Participates in routine on-call schedule. Comply with SDSP’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Be a good steward of company resources Requirements Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Prefer five (5) years of electrical experience Prefer current journeyman’s license and ability to obtain Contractor’s license within one year of employment Strong verbal and written communication skills Possess basic math skills Maintain a safe, positive work attitude. Must be dependable, self-motivated and able to work well with others
