JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to support functional, performance, and durability testing at both vehicle and subsystem levels for battery electric vehicles. This role will focus on planning, executing, and documenting test activities related to battery systems and components. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, hands-on testing skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with electrical components (e.g., contactors, fuses, PCBs, connectors).
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data collection equipment.
  • Basic software programming skills.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle batteries, including repair, assembly, or reconditioning.
  • Prior experience in a test lab or similar environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, set up, and execute functional, performance, and durability tests for vehicle and battery subsystems.
  • Conduct testing for characterization, qualification, and reliability of electrical components such as contactors, fuses, PCBs, connectors, and battery pack components.
  • Select, calibrate, and install instrumentation, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Prepare, configure, and maintain control/data acquisition equipment.
  • Write drive scripts to automate test sequences and cycles.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to automate test setups for Vehicle and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Support and manage long-term durability tests on battery packs and vehicle structures.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues found during testing, enlisting SMEs for root cause and corrective actions when needed.
  • Document results and prepare detailed reports on testing outcomes.
