Description Excel Services is a fast-growing design-build contractor looking for an experienced Electrical Trade Instructor to train and grow our skilled workforce. The Electrical Trade Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality electrical training that prepares employees for safe, consistent, and code-compliant work in the field. This role facilitates classroom instruction, hands-on lab training, and on-the-job learning aligned with company standards, industry best practices, and real jobsite conditions. This position plays a key role in strengthening technical skills, reinforcing safety culture, and supporting the long-term development of electricians at all experience levels. The Electrical Trade Instructor works closely with Training leadership, Safety, and Operations to support company training initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop and facilitate electrical training content for classroom, hands-on, and field-based learning Deliver practical, job-ready instruction aligned with NEC requirements and company standards Conduct hands-on labs that simulate real jobsite scenarios Support on-the-job training by partnering with foremen and supervisors Assess trainee skills and provide clear, constructive feedback Reinforce safety practices and proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE Maintain training documentation and support LMS tracking as needed Participate in continuous improvement of training programs and materials Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay with paid overtime Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid holidays and PTO Paid training and tuition reimbursement Team incentive bonus program Strong culture focused on people and performance Excel Services is a multi-discipline design-build contractor serving commercial, industrial, and institutional clients throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana. Requirements Must-Have Qualifications Certified Electrician (Journeyman or Master preferred) Minimum 5+ years of field experience Strong working knowledge of NEC, electrical safety standards, and jobsite best practices Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to employees at varying skill levels Desirable Skills & Experience Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience (formal or informal) Comfortable using computers and basic technology (email, LMS platforms, presentations) Strong initiative with the ability to work independently Ability to manage multiple projects and training priorities simultaneously Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with apprentices and entry-level employees Familiarity with adult learning principles (a plus, not required) Adaptable and open to continuous learning Strong collaboration skills across departments Schedule & Flexibility Flexibility required to support training initiatives Some evening and Saturday availability may be necessary based on training needs (not often)
