Primary Purpose Under direction, leads crews and performs the most complicated substation construction, inspection, installation, testing and maintenance work on energized or de-energized conductors, structures, plant and equipment used in the production and distribution of electrical energy. Primary Duties Installing, testing, removing or replacing motors, generators, rotaries, rectifiers, batteries, transformers, regulators, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, instruments, relays, lighting equipment, lightning arresters, bushings, insulators, and other allied equipment including control apparatus. Insulating oil testing, welding, minor plumbing for air, oil, water, or steam, painting, excavating, making and placing forms for concrete work, and work of an allied nature. Installs, removes or replaces lighting system apparatus and all systems related to physical plants, Company buildings or yards. Directs the work of others assisting him. Performs other related or less skilled work as required. Job Scope Eligible solely upon Company appraisal of ability, fitness, and leadership qualities for promotion to grade of Senior Electrician providing a vacancy exists. Minimum Qualifications Must be PHI Loto qualified Must have completed PHI T&S Substation progression Training Must be able to perform Power Factor testing with Doble Test Equipment. Must be able understand wiring diagrams and prints. Must be able to understand construction prints. Must be able to understand basic substation relays. Must be able to troubleshoot transformer and circuit breaker alarms. Must have a class A CDL Preferred Qualifications Benefits Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $54.38/Hr.
