Description Who We Are Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. Golden Queen Mining Company is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician IV to plan, lay out, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems across our mining and processing operations. This role supports a wide range of equipment—from lighting systems to three-phase 480 VAC motors, substations, and automated control systems. The ideal candidate brings strong industrial experience and a proactive approach to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Experience with PLC controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, across-the-line motor controls, belt scales, conveyors and safety systems is essential. A solid understanding of arc flash safety, motor controls, and advanced electrical troubleshooting is required. State electrician certification is preferred but not required. This is a safety-sensitive position. Position Overview Electrician IV role is a senior-level position with expectations for leadership, technical proficiency, and continued professional growth. Advancement is performance-based and requires demonstrated competency across advanced industrial electrical systems. Prior to advancement, the employee must demonstrate the ability to: Read and interpret electrical plans and specifications, including one-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, ladder diagrams, and loop diagrams Produce high-quality work that meets NEC standards, engineering plans, and industry best practices Train and mentor others on safety practices, policies, and procedures related to assigned tasks Work independently or collaboratively to complete projects efficiently Troubleshoot and calibrate conveyor belt scales Effectively utilize equipment manuals and technical documentation Troubleshoot and adjust parameters on VFDs and soft starters Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation including flow meters, level meters, pressure transmitters, solenoids, and control valves Troubleshoot and repair Mercury Retorts, refinery furnaces, lab furnaces/ovens, and sampling equipment Perform emergency electrical repairs with minimal downtime Diagnose and repair 480 VAC facility equipment including conveyors, crushers, pumps, and related systems Work safely on 4,160 VAC conveyor power systems Respond reliably to unexpected callouts What You Do Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on plant-wide electrical equipment Inspect field conditions and identify issues, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving opportunities; implement corrective actions Direct and monitor contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work Maintain accurate documentation including inspection forms, work orders, and daily task reports Provide detailed end-of-shift updates outlining troubleshooting efforts and completed repairs Safely energize and de-energize 12.6 KVA transformers & substation breakers and 480 VAC breakers/disconnects Verify voltage on high-voltage equipment Complete repairs properly, efficiently, and in a timely manner Maintain required personal electrical tools Follow all company safety and environmental policies, including MSHA regulations Work closely with the Process team to improve equipment reliability What You Bring 5–7+ years of industrial mining electrical experience preferred Strong knowledge of crushing and conveyor electrical systems Experience installing and maintaining industrial electrical equipment Personal electrical tools required State electrician certification preferred Mining experience is strongly preferred Strong attendance and punctuality Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team Ability to collaborate across departments Must be reliable Valid driver’s license High school diploma or equivalent What We Offer We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package, which includes the following: 401K with Company Matching PPO & HMO Health Insurance Plans 10 Paid Holidays Vacation Accruals Notice to recruitment and/or staffing firms: The Company will not pay any fees for recruitment activities related to the hiring of a candidate for any position unless a services agreement has been entered into between the recruitment and/or staffing firm.
