We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Electrician in HMP Haverigg. This role is based on-site and is more than 1 hour from Lancaster. Unless immediately local, you will need to drive to/from work due to the rural location. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary). By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. What you will do: Planned and preventative electrical maintenance. Responding to breakdowns ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner. Actively fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison. Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations. Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations. Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services. Other tasks as required by the Site. What you will bring: Ability to work alone and use initiative. Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at work Regulations. Capable of working at heights. Appropriate technical qualification eg City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above. BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition (however if you currently only have 17th Edition, we will sponsor you to upgrade to the 18th Edition; terms and conditions apply). Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing within a commercial environment. Experience in fire alarm systems and CCTV systems. IT skills. Responsibilities

The Electrician will perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and actively fault find on domestic electrical systems. They will also undertake electrical installation activities and monitor critical spares for all electrical services.
