Job Summary The Electrician Apprentice supports the Maintenance and Engineering team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This role provides hands-on training while assisting licensed electricians with electrical installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations. Key Responsibilities · Assist licensed electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment · Support troubleshooting of electrical issues on sole-manufacturing machines, presses, mixers, conveyors, curing ovens, and automated systems · Perform basic electrical tasks under supervision, including wiring, conduit installation, panel work, and component replacement · Assist with preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life · Read and interpret basic electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals · Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and OSHA regulations · Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area · Document maintenance activities and report issues to the maintenance team · Work collaboratively with mechanical maintenance, production, and engineering teams · Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability Required Qualifications · High school diploma or GED · Enrollment in or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or technical program (or willingness to enroll) · Basic understanding of electrical theory, tools, and safety practices · Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and industrial materials · Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or shift work as required · Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety · Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision Preferred Qualifications · Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting · Familiarity with PLCs, automation, or industrial controls (basic exposure preferred) · Experience with 3-phase power systems · Knowledge of OSHA electrical safety standards Physical Requirements · Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds · Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving machinery Skills & Competencies · Mechanical and electrical aptitude · Strong problem-solving skills · Willingness to learn and develop technical skills · Good communication and teamwork abilities · Time management and organizational skills Vibram is a growth company seeking motivated individuals to grow with it.
