Description

We currently have an opportunity for a licenced Electrician to join our Facility Maintenance team at BlueScope Steel in Hastings. Reporting to Facility Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services. The position is in Hastings Victoria, and we are looking for someone that can work Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm. What You’ll Do (key responsibilities) This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including: * Carry out maintenance and repair activities, within skill set, to meet contract conditions and customer requirements. * Assist other staff and clients as required to meet contract requirements; * Plan and manage own work to ensure a satisfactory and cost-effective outcome; * Provide paperwork including dockets, timesheets and service sheets in a timely manner; * Prioritize and manage workloads to complete tasks efficiently within required deadlines. * Ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace by adhering to health and safety standards and reporting any hazards. * Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with team members and respond effectively to customer needs. What You’ll Bring (Certification) * Electrical trade certification and current Unrestricted Electrician’s Licence * WHS General Induction for the Construction Industry (White Card) * Valid, unrestricted VIC Drivers Licence * Current first aid certificate (preferred) * WorkSafe High Risk Licence to operate boom type EWP (preferred) * Current working at height qualification What You’ll Bring (Experience) * Demonstrated experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair work with a preferred minimum of 5 years post-trade experience * Demonstrated diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills * Broad experience in the buildings & services industry and good knowledge of building regulations and statutory obligations * Detailed understanding of WHS responsibilities and day to day application, e.g., conducting Take 5, completing Safe Work Method Statements * Ability to manage / organise work related tasks * Good interpersonal and customer service skills * Ability to carry out physical work * Ability to work with others * Experience using hand tools, power tools and other equipment * Experience in safe use of ladders, portable scaffolds, Elevated Work Platforms and fall restraint/arrest systems * Working at heights * Good understanding of WHS requirements for Confined Spaces, preferably with Certificate of Competency to work in confined spaces * Good written and oral skills to communicate with others and provide accurate docket feedback, time sheets and service sheets as required More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. **Please note, as a prerequisite for this role candidates will be required to complete work rights check, pre-employment medical check, National Police History certificate and reference checks.
