DESCRIPTION

As an Electrician at Breedon, you’ll work alongside our maintenance and operations teams. You’ll enjoy problem solving and will be working to identify the root cause for electrical defects and breakdowns, offering solutions to problematic equipment, aiming to resolve problems in a time efficient and safe manner.
We are looking for a experienced industrial electrician to join our team based on a 48 hour contract, overtime is available.
You’ll support the wider Maintenance team to identify and support preventative maintenance activities at our flagship Cloud Hill Quarry based in Derbyshire.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Essential:

  • A qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience of a heavy industrial environment
  • Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation
  • Good understanding of electrical maintenance methods & techniques
  • Knowledge & experience of medium/high voltage networks including switching methods
  • A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations
  • Computer literate
  • A full UK driving licence due to site location

Desirable; training can be provided:

  • A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing
  • PLC and VSD Experience
  • 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certification
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing a preventative maintenance. system and carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure that our quarry and asphalt plant operates safely and reliably. You will play a key ‘hands on’ role in the planning and implementation of plant improvements and have the ability to quickly fault find, respond to any unplanned plant shutdowns and work closely with other team members and contractors as required.
Part of this role will include traveling to other Breedon sites in the Midlands area, a company van is provided.
