JOB DESCRIPTION

Being part of the operations team, the mine electrician has the function of inspecting equipment, detecting electrical problems and repairing them, either underground or in a workshop on the surface.

REQUIREMENTS

• Underground hard rock common core in Ontario;
• Hold a valid explosive license;
• Red Seal endorsement OR Hold a C license or 5,000 hours or more registered;
• Read and understand plans and specifications;
• Hold a high school diploma or other equivalent degree;
• Fluent in English is required.

• Respect safety standards at all times;
• Check the registers;
• Inspect the workplace at the beginning of the shift;
• Use and complete the work card throughout the shift;
• Complete the equipment inspection and maintenance card;
• Check the barricades and the condition of the workplace;
• Detect electrical problem on mining equipment and do the required repairs;
• Handle transport equipment (tractor, zoom boom, scissors, etc.);
• Inspect the machinery at the end of the shift so that it is operational for the next shift;
• Complete the work card at the end of the shift;
• Any other related tasks.
