Te kōwhiringa | The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrician / Electrical Fitter to join our Energy & Utilities team based in Paeroa on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification of electricity distribution network equipment. This includes working on substations, transformers, switchgear, regulators and associated network assets. You’ll work closely with Area Managers, Supervisors and Project Managers to understand job requirements, determine materials and resources, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll be trusted to work independently while remaining a valued member of a supportive, experienced field team. Mōu Koe | About you Trade qualification with relevant electrical registration and a current practising licence NZQA Electrical Level 4 (or equivalent) Current manual Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 preferred) Experience in electricity distribution construction, maintenance and fault response Both underground and overhead construction skills preferred Sound knowledge of substation equipment, electrical test equipment, systems and procedures Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete accurate documentation and reports Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in challenging conditions Applicants must be eligible to undergo pre-employment medical and MOJ checks Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
