Electrician / Electrical Testing Engineer

DESCRIPTION

We are a long established and well respected specialist electrical testing company based in the South West. We carry out testing of electrical installations, emergency lighting, fire alarms & portable appliances both locally and nationally, for a range of prestigious clients from commercial to heavy industrial.

We are looking for an electrical engineer to join our team to carry out electrical installation testing, fire alarm & emergency lighting testing and carry out remedial work and installations - the work involved will be both interesting and fulfilling. This position will not involve PAT testing.
You will undergo an induction / familiarization process with one of our experienced engineers initially, to build your knowledge and understanding of how we operate. £40 - £50k per annum average (depending on experience / qualifications) . Van, fuel card, uniform and test equipment supplied with all expenses including overnight lodging costs and travelling time paid.
Note: we do not pay on a piece rate basis.

Salary: £45,000.00 to £50,000.00 /year

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will be required to:
Work on a national basis, generally Monday to Friday.
Willingness to travel is essential.
Have the ability to schedule and plan their work and work with minimal supervision.
Be well presented, polite and professional with good communication and customer service skills.
Have good literacy skills.
Have a full, clean UK driving license. (SP30 accepted)
Work to required quality and safety standards.
Ensure cost effectiveness and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Complete and submit paperwork and data as agreed.
Able to work on own initiative as well as part of at team.
Be flexible in regard to working hours and location.
Have a good understanding of Health and Safety Requirements.
Qualifications:
C&G 2382-18 Requirements for Electrical Installations L3 (or equivalent).
Have or be in the process of, or be willing to obtain: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Level 3 Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
Have a clear knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition.
Have a sound knowledge and experience of three-phase electrical systems.
Advantageous to have knowledge of:
BS5839-1:2017 Fire detection and fire alarms systems for buildings.
BS5266-1:2016 Emergency lighting.
