GENERAL SUMMARY: This position requires attention to detail with respect to all electrical distribution systems, electronic equipment, and other electric appliances. The individual must perform daily maintenance on all assigned equipment as necessary and complete specific p.m.'s on same. This person is required to be on call as scheduled for the plant operations section and must also perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Skills Required: 1. Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and written manufacturers reference materials. 2. Must possess valid New York State driver's license and be insurable. 3. Previous experience operating a variety of test equipment to include multimeters, chart recorders, current probes, megohm meter, etc. 4. Previous experiences modifying/correcting electrical and electronic circuitry in residential, commercial, and industrial building wiring and machine controls. 5. Thorough understanding of building mechanical and electrical system functions and interactions, ideally in a healthcare setting. 6. Must be trained and competent within current Central Fire Alarm system within 12 months of hire. 7. Competent in the maintenance and operation of the pneumatic tube system within 12 months of hire. 8. Certified to operate various platform lifts, to include articulating and scissor lifts preferred. 9. Ability to be a critical problem solver in high stress/impact moments. 10. Ability to plan projects, order materials, complete installations efficiently. 11. Ability to write and communicate well with supervisors, tradesmen, and hospital staff. 12. Ability to use a computer and personal electronic devices. 13. Must possess a high school diploma and completed vocational training in the electrical trades. 14. Preferred 3-5 years experience as a journeyman electrician. 15. Previous experience performing all work conforming to electrical codes (national and local) and OSHA. 16. Excellent understanding and application of safety rules in a healthcare and industrial setting. 17. Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution driven skills. 18. Ability to portray the professionalism associated with the position, work independently with minimal supervision and strive for continuous quality improvement. 19. Ability to relate with and work with people irrespective of their background. 20. Preferred OSHA fall protection trained and comfortable working from a lift. 21. NYS certified O&M training for asbestos or certification obtained within 12 months. This is a bargaining union position. Responsibilities
