PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • AQF Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent
  • Licensed and registered to perform electrical work as required by relevant regulatory authorities
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant on-the-job experience post-certification

  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and compliance requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a qualified and dependable Electrician (General) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing a variety of electrical systems and equipment across commercial, industrial, and domestic settings. This position requires a licensed professional with a strong understanding of electrical safety standards and installation protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to determine installation requirements
  • Measure and mark reference points for wiring and equipment installation
  • Select, cut, and connect electrical wires and cables to panels, switchboards, and systems
  • Use electrical testing equipment to trace faults, diagnose malfunctions, and verify system performance
  • Repair or replace defective wiring, components, and electrical systems as needed
  • Install and position electrical switchboards, control panels, and other related systems
  • Connect electrical networks and systems to the main power supply in accordance with safety codes
  • Test the continuity of circuits and grounding to ensure safe operation
  • Install, test, and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in line with standards
  • Service and maintain electric and mechanical components of lifts and related equipment
