APPROVED ELECTRICIAN (DATA CENTRES) – MOBILE

Location: Mobile role covering Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire
Salary: £43,500 per annum + paid travel time + overtime
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Contract: Permanent

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Approved Electrician to work across data centre and commercial environments. This is a mobile role, providing electrical installation and maintenance services across multiple sites. The position requires someone who can work independently, deliver high-quality work, and ensure compliance with current regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• C&G 2382-18 (18th Edition).
• C&G 2391-10 (Inspection & Testing) essential; C&G 2391-20 (Design & Verification) desirable.
• Proven experience in commercial electrical installations and LV distribution systems.
• Experience with DC/UPS systems advantageous but not essential.
• Familiarity with safe working practices and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong communication skills and flexible approach to work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• First Aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS, SSSTS, or IOSH qualifications beneficial (training can be provided).

• As an Approved Electrician, carry out electrical installation work, including 1st fix containment, 2nd fix installations, power, lighting, and commissioning.
• Install tray, ladder, conduit, and containment systems in line with construction drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, requisition materials, and set out jobs efficiently.
• Undertake inspection, testing, and certification to regulatory standards.
• Work to project programmes, following RAMS and site procedures.
• Provide updates to supervisors/project managers on progress and any changes to works.
• Assist with estimating/quoting for electrical works where required.
• Supervise and guide other operatives when needed.
