This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work Salary Range: $39,671 - $69,426 Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, the primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, alter, and repair electrical systems. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Performing preventive and routine corrective maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. - Maintaining, repairing, installing, and altering wiring, electrical devices, machinery, and equipment associated with the various building systems within a correctional institution. - Locating and diagnosing troubles occurring in institutional electrical systems and making necessary repairs. This includes measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles, and installs conduit, draws wire through conduit, does necessary splicing, soldering, and application of friction tape, installs and connects equipment to wiring system and operation or use of all test equipment and tools associated with the electrical trade. - Cross training, assisting with and/or performing other maintenance related tasks, and following oral/written instructions. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Experience with the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. About Pender Correctional Institution: Pender Correctional Institution is located in Burgaw, North Carolina and houses up to 768 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
