Job Description
We are currently seeking an Electrician to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Hawkesbury plant, ON. Our manufacturing plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of this role is to maximize plant performance through troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of electrical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Industrial Electrician 442A
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma is a plus
  • Must have knowledge of AC/DC Drives, Relay Logic, RS logix 500 and control logix Programming
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Responsibilities
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components such as switches, relays, circuit breakers and fuse disconnects
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Work with computers, AC/DC drives, HMI’s and PLC’s
  • Read and interpret Electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Work closely with Operations and Mechanical Maintenance personnel
  • Plan and oversee testing and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment and tools on a scheduled basis
  • Comply with internal and corporate policies, procedures and regulations with respect to Health & Safety
  • Respond to emergency situations as necessary
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager
  • The position is subject to shift/weekend work and availability for on call in emergency
