Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and maintain a variety of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems, while adhering to project plans and blueprints.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself, colleagues, and other on-site personnel. Follow all established electrical codes, regulations, and guidelines to prevent accidents and hazards.
  • Run conduit, wire, and cables to connect electrical systems and ensure the proper distribution of power. Install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Install Cables/cable ladder/brackets/underground conduit systems and install switchgear and distribution systems.
  • Thorough understanding of AS/NZS 3000 and subsidiary standards within.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identify the root causes of issues, and undertake effective repair & maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct thorough testing of electrical systems and components using specialized tools and equipment. Perform inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management team, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Interpret engineering and detailed drawings, specifications and standards to complete tasks accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked. Provide updates to supervisors and project managers to keep them informed of progress and any potential challenges.
  • Stay up to date with local, state, and national electrical codes, regulations and industry best practices to ensure all work is compliant and of the highest quality.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of your co-workers;
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain and care for equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
