As we continue to grow, so too does our team. We are looking for the right candidate to take on the role of Electrician Leading Hand . This is a Full-Time role, based in Dampier local residents are encouraged to apply.
This role ensures project electrical tasks are completed safely, to the agreed quality and technical standards, through the management of tradespersons and other team members engaged on projects at our shipyard.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate and Contractor Licence
  • Relevant Trade and supervision experience
  • Outstanding communication, leadership and people management skills
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • A nationally accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card) and Drivers Licence
  • Service-oriented team player with a “make it happen safely” attitude
  • Maritime industry experience essential

Responsibilities
  • Safety and Environment planning and execution for the project work
  • Planning, co-ordination and execution of production electrical resources
  • Leadership, work-place culture and role modelling of acceptable workplace behaviours consistent with Birdon’s Code of Conduct and values
  • Meeting Quality outcomes
  • Electrical work on-board vessels and in workshops, supporting site operations
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, as well as vessel drawings/schematics
  • Active participation in daily toolbox talksCommitment to project completion goals
