Description
Local 95 Union Purpose: Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment in the hospital buildings, as per any applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities: Replace faulty switches, sockets, fuses, insulators, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances. Inspect, test, and repair electrical circuits, lighting, signal, communication, control and power circuits and equipment. Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment. Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Order material necessary for any job. Responsible for setting-up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level, maintaining the integrity of that containment, and performing all work following infection control procedures. Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators, transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment. Isolate defective wiring, switches, motor and other electrical equipment. Operate switchgear and electrical machinery. Install new wiring and electrical machinery. Repair and maintain building fire alarm system as per NFPA standards. High school diploma or GED required. Trade school, Vo-Tech or union approved apprenticeship required. Must have three to four years of hospital or industrial work experience. Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical diagrams required.
