Description The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment supporting Milford Mining Company’s mining and mineral processing operations. This role works closely with maintenance and operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance across crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning circuits. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including motors, drives, MCCs, instrumentation, and control systems within the processing plant and associated facilities. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment to maximize reliability and minimize downtime. Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, mills, flotation circuits, leach systems, and SX/EW operations. Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support installation and repair activities. Work with PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to support process control and automation. Collaborate with operations and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot process issues and improve system performance. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and applicable electrical codes. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation of completed tasks. Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment, upgrades, and capital projects. Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Work Environment This position operates in an active mining and mineral processing environment. The employee will be exposed to industrial conditions including moving mechanical equipment, high voltage systems, dust, noise, vibration, and hazardous chemicals associated with mineral processing operations. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, and work at heights. Frequent use of hands for tools and equipment is required. The role involves bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in confined spaces. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision (critical for electrical work), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position operating on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, consisting of 12-hour shifts. Employees will rotate monthly between day and night shifts. Overtime and call-outs may be required based on operational needs. Travel Travel is minimal and primarily local. Occasional travel may be required for training or development opportunities. Requirements High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in mining, processing, or heavy industry Strong knowledge of electrical systems including motors, starters, MCCs, and industrial controls Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation Working knowledge of safe electrical practices and lockout/tagout procedures Preferred Education and Experience Journeyman Electrician License (Utah or reciprocal) Experience with PLC and/or DCS systems Experience in mineral processing environments (crushing, grinding, flotation, leach, SX/EW) Familiarity with instrumentation and process control systems MSHA training or prior mining experience
