Are you a skilled and versatile Electrician looking to make a real impact in your community? Luton Council is seeking a dedicated Electrician (Multi-Trade) to join our Property Services Team, delivering high-quality maintenance and refurbishment work across a range of residential and public buildings.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (City & Guilds or Advanced Apprenticeship).
  • 18th Edition IEE Regulations qualification (upgrade).
  • Valid UK driving licence – daily travel required.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders for inspections and access to loft spaces/roofs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in building maintenance.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Carrying out day-to-day maintenance and project-based refurbishment works using a full range of electrical and associated multi-trade skills.
  • Working from drawings and specifications in accordance with Schedule of Rates.
  • Diagnosing faults, sourcing required materials, and carrying out repairs and installations with minimal supervision.
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Interacting courteously with tenants, clients, and colleagues across the Council.
  • Travelling daily between sites across Luton, with equipment.

BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS JOB, IT WILL BE NECESSARY FOR THE APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF CRIMINAL RECORD DISCLOSURE TO BE UNDERTAKEN.
