Description:

We require a full time Electrician and Electrical equipment fitter who is familiar with the tasks listed below. An Electrician and Electrical equipment fitter assemble parts in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment and install, maintain, and repair electrical plant, machinery, appliances and wiring. The Electrical Fitter will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing and test tasks within the electrical department, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.
  • Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and actioning repairs.
  • Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given.
  • Installs electrical plant or machinery and other electrical fixtures and appliances such as fuse boxes, generators, light, sockets etc.
  • Examines electrical plant or machinery, domestic appliances and other electrical assembly for faults using test equipment and replaces worn parts and faulty wiring.
  • Assembles parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools and by brazing, riveting or welding.
  • Selects, cuts and lays wires and connects to sockets, plugs or terminals by crimping, soldering, brazing or bolting.
  • To record fully any incidents, accidents and concerns relating to safety issues to the manager.
  • To maintain clear and accurate records of each job to give to the client and the service manager.
  • To ensure your own equipment is in good working condition with regular safety checks.
  • To carry out required repairs to a high standards and cost-effective work scheduling.

Requirements :

  • Electrical courses on Level 2 or above are required.
  • Academic qualification of GCSEs/S grades or an equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • Apprenticeships combining practical work experience on electrical equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Clause : Applicant will be enrolled to a full time contract on completion of 4 weeks probation period.

Salary: Between £28000 - £33000 per year.
