About the role Join us as an Electrician in our Pulp business unit and help keep our industrial site running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll support electrical functions across a variety of plant, including Pulpmill operations, the Chipmill, Bark Boiler, and our primary and secondary wastewater treatment facilities. You’ll work across a wide range of electrical systems supported by our DCS and PLC network, along with a large fleet of networked VSDs and multiple communication protocols. As one of New Zealand’s largest on site energy operations, we manage our own 11kV supply and distribution network—so you’ll work on everything from 11kV down to 24V DC. Key Responsibilities Include: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across all pulpmill and utilities electrical assets. Supporting breakdown response alongside shift electricians to minimise downtime. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, control, and protection systems. Maintaining and fault finding across DCS, PLC, and VSD systems. Supporting the reliability and safe operation of high and low voltage equipment. Contributing to capital, upgrade, and maintenance projects as required. Ensuring related documentation, testing, and compliance requirements are met. This is a day shift role, Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm), with participation in our call out roster approximately one week in every five. The position is based at our Whirinaki site, just 15 minutes north of Napier.
