Our Pharmacy facility is seeking a Certified Electrician to join our Maintenance department. The incumbent is to ensure applicable safety standards and practices are being followed as the need arises to perform the job. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of current Ontario or Inter-provincial Apprenticeship (Trades Qualification) program (309A preferred)
  • Experience with PLCs
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices
Responsibilities
  • Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches or verbal instruction and accomplish these assignments with the maximum efficiency
  • Preventive Maintenance along with inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, Hydraulic and pneumatic electronic control systems and devices, and maintaining accurate logs
  • Use MES when required (e.g. changing line status, reviewing and closing maintenance work orders)
  • Capable of providing training, instruction and direction to apprentices or helpers assigned to them during the course of their duties
  • Must know and keep familiar all national, provincial and local codes as they affect repair, maintenance, safety construction and dismantling of machinery, equipment and structures
  • Work with other departments in emergency situations, plant shut down periods, and in times when machinery is not operating to perform all necessary activities to get equipment and machinery back into operation in minimum time
  • Be available for after hours call duty for two weeks per month or any other mutually agreed arrangements
  • Participate and support Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS) initiatives as the need arises, conducting routine HSEMS preventive maintenance checks
  • Ensure all chemicals are disposed of in the appropriated manner as outlined on labels
  • Participate and support 5S program and Energy Conservation Initiative
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned
