Description

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role works as part of a team to support the uptime of production lines in our facility and includes the installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed (422A) Electrician
  • PLC experience.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing experience, preferably in food industry and beverage industry
  • Good reading, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Commitment towards quality, safety, teamwork, and respect for others.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects, walk, and stand for long periods and perform physical labor. Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have good hygiene
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all electrical equipment is guarded properly and free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or physical harm to Associates
  • Follow all lock-out procedures as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Select Food Products safety rules, policies, procedures, and practices
  • Stop any employee/contractor from performing electrical work that they are not qualified to perform and report the incident immediately to your supervisor
  • Install, connect, troubleshoot, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes including but not limited to the building and production machinery
  • Perform duties in accordance with the applicable Building and Electrical Codes.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, and electric meters to perform duties.
  • Attend work stoppages as needed, and service all electrical needs in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Install and maintain all PLC requirements
  • Periodically inspect equipment and locate and correct problems before breakdowns occur
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs including accurate documentation
  • Use cleaning materials (brooms, mops, sponges, water, chemicals etc.…) to sanitize and perform detailed cleaning of the work environment, tools, machinery, parts etc.… Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.
