Responsibilities

As an Electrician you’ll be responsible for connecting solar systems to the grid and completing both residential and commercial electrical and service work.

Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the duties and responsibilities of an Electrician include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures;
  • Work with the installation team, the local utility companies and inspectors to ensure that the installation meets or exceeds all standards and expectations;
  • Installing and terminating conduit wire, cable, equipment, panels, sensors and various control components and monitoring devices;
  • Completing panel swaps;
  • Provide service upgrades;
  • Installation of EV chargers;
  • Avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring not in compliance with specifications and electrical codes;
  • Activate, test and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal operation and performance;
  • Provide input into system design, installation and coordination, and take part of the initial handover team to plan the job from the onset;
  • Work in a manner that minimizes waste, ensures adequate inventory of consumables, maintains a tidy work area, ensures equipment is in good working order;
  • Adheres to Corporation policies and procedures paying special attention to health and safety procedures including the use of required personal protective equipment; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
