We’re looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Far North water and wastewater network team, supporting critical operations across a wide regional footprint. This is a fantastic opportunity whether you’re newly qualified or building your experience, with strong support from an experienced team and exposure to automation systems like PLC and SCADA. About the Role This is a field-based, mobile role covering sites from Opononi to Russell and up to Kaitaia, based out of Kaikohe. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the electrical systems that keep water and wastewater services running safely and efficiently. What you’ll be doing: Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across treatment plants, pump stations, and network assets Responding to reactive breakdowns and call-outs (shared roster – approx. 1 week per month) Supporting minor project and upgrade work Troubleshooting electrical systems including PLCs and SCADA Maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements Working both independently in the field and collaboratively with the wider team What You’ll Bring We’re open to newly qualified electricians as well as those with more experience. Essential: EWRB Electrical Registration Full NZ Driver’s Licence Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship Experience We Value: Exposure to industrial or infrastructure environments (water experience not essential) Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, pumps, motors, or control systems Confidence in fault-finding and problem-solving Ability to work independently and manage your own workload About You You’re someone who: Is a self-starter who can work autonomously in the field Enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work and problem-solving Communicates well and works effectively in a team Is flexible and willing to support an on-call roster Takes pride in supporting essential community services What’s in It for You?
