Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Electro-Mechanical Assembler. What you'll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible to have a thorough knowledge of all standard Panelboard, Control Product and some custom product assemblies and all related materials required to complete the assembly. This role is located at one of our Eaton Satellite locations (6 in total), which are located across Canada and comprise of smaller assemble-to-order facilities and complement our medium to large manufacturing facilities within Canada. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting Inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed Perform pack and ship duties Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S Assist team in achieving plant and department goals Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80 kilometers of Winnipeg, Manitoba to be considered. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future. Preferred Qualifications: 3 months experience working in a manufacturing environment Position Criteria: Effective communication / interpersonal skills Reading, comprehension and mathematical skills Basic computer skills Knowledge / experience with hand and power tools Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision Demonstrates continuous learning through cross training, learning new skills, refreshing prior skill ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Working Conditions: Risk control measures and/or personal protective equipment must be utilized for laceration, pinch point, mechanical and other safety hazards. Environmental Conditions Hand powered tools and other machinery may lead to excessive noise; employees must wear appropriate hearing protection as necessary Physical Demands Ergonomic stressors may include: Heavy and awkward parts Lifting, pushing or pulling components and parts over 23kgs (50 lbs) Repetitive motion Material handling Long periods of standing Employees are expected to utilize lifting aids, two man lifts and proper lifting techniques to ameliorate musculoskeletal disorders and other ergonomic hazards.
