Job title: Electromagnetic Engineer
Location: Filton, Broad Oak, Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £67,000 (depending on skills and experience)

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential:

  • Experience in modelling capability and be able to determine when the use of approximate or full field tools is appropriate and the most cost-effective technique
  • Knowledge of HERP, HERE, HERO and HERF (Radiation Standards) safety standards, and appropriate DEF STAN, Mil-STD and NATO STANAG’s. Knowledge of EMF Directive and CEMFAW Regulations including implanted medical devices
  • Experience of EEE related UK defence standards DEF-STAN 59-411, related US standards (MIL-STD 461) and Civil EMC standards

Desirable:

  • Ability to manage support Electromagnetic Environment Effects problem sentencing activities to an agreed programme and budget
  • Ability to perform an EEE gap analysis and assess consequential EEE risk and develop risk mitigation schemes in support of product and integration teams
Responsibilities
  • Undertaking Electromagnetic analysis on Naval platforms and products for both Topside and Below Decks equipment installation
  • Definition of platform specific Electromagnetic design rules
  • Analysis and mitigation of any potential non conformities
  • Carrying out Electromagnetic measurements on platform (RADHAZ) or products (EMC Certification)
  • Antenna siting, RADHAZ, Mutual Interference, exclusion zones with trade-offs between systems
  • Supporting TEMPEST assessments and aware of current TEMPEST standards
  • Development and mentoring personnel
