As an Electromechancial Estimator working in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will work closely with our proposals team and various client groups to secure bids and ensure project success.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform material and labor quantity estimates for major jobs.
  • Prepare summary quantities based on plans and specifications, classifying according to standard sections and trades.
  • Participate in the selection of concepts, types of equipment and suppliers.
  • Attend coordination meetings, site visits, and assess the difficulty of projects to be estimated.
  • Research material or subcontractor prices after analyzing bid documents.Verify compliance of amounts received from suppliers and subcontractors with tender documents.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Good technical knowledge mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Strong skills in reading plans and specifications.
  • Versatility and excellent analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate on projects in various fields of expertise.
