With over 230 years of experience, we are continuously shaping the future of the marine and energy industries. We are now looking for an Electromechanical Expert to join our team working at the critical interface between Wärtsilä engine automation & control systems and the mechanical 4-stroke engine platform. This role needs to be based in Vaasa, Finland  What you will be doing In this role, you will act as the key link between our Automation & Control and Mechanical Design teams, ensuring seamless integration of control system components with engine hardware. You will also lead smaller design activities independently and take ownership of lifecycle management for interface components. Your responsibilities will include: Technical Design & Integration - Design and develop electromechanical solutions at the interface between control systems and 4-stroke engine platforms (e.g., sensors, actuators, cabling, connectors, mounting solutions) Lifecycle Management - Own the whole lifecycle of electromechanical interface Leading Design Activities - Lead smaller design tasks and sub-projects from concept to production Cross-Functional Collaboration - Act as a liaison between Automation & Control and  internal stakeholders Supplier Collaboration - Work with external suppliers to develop and qualify components Documentation & Quality -Create and maintain technical documentation (drawings, specifications, instructions); Support testing and validation activities and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Experience in electromechanical design, preferably within industrial, automotive, or marine environments Strong understanding of integration between electrical/control systems and mechanical structures Knowledge of harsh environment design considerations (vibration, temperature, corrosion) Familiarity with lifecycle management and engineering change processes Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams Strong communication and problem-solving skills Fluent English, both written and spoken Why you and us?
