Description
Overview The incumbent in the product development team would be responsible for creating high value Lithium Battery Packs & associated products for various applications. The role will be of an individual contributor working on the electromechanical parts and assemblies of the battery system with interaction with cross functional teams. Domain Experience Hand’s on Experience in electromechanical designing of Lithium Ion battery packs/modules. Design of cell holder and module layout for cylindrical/pouch/prismatic cells. Design and drawing representation of cell connector, bus bars, cell welding and insulators. Material selections to meet safety, functional and cost requirements. Component placement, assembly and mounting of Battery Management System (BMS) /communication PCB’s. Selection and mounting of temperature, gas sensors; Selection of power/signal connectors and design of internal wire routing. Designing enclosures for battery packs for various Ingress protections (IP20, IP55 or higher) to meet functional drop and vibration requirements. Understanding of semi-automated/automated battery production processes. Expertise in part and assembly design for plastic injection moulding, sheet metals, weldments, rapid prototyping with plastics and metals. Able to select electromechanical parts, specify coatings, paint requirements and prepare test specifications to meet product and regulatory requirements. Tolerance stack-up analysis and knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning, Tolerancing and Engineering Drawing Practices. Knowledge of UL, IEC, NFPA standards related to cell, battery systems are preferred. Exposure to Thermal management would be an added advantage. Software Experience: Minimum 3 year’s working experience on Creo modelling and drafting (sheet metal, plastics, Pro/Cabling). Simulation tool experience on Creo, ANSYS. B.E/B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical – with 6 to 8 year’s experience.
