Requirements SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Sets up, operates, and monitors electron beam welding equipment to perform high-integrity welds on precision components. Works closely with engineers and machinists to ensure product quality meets specifications required for gas turbine performance and safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive, verify, and prepare components for EB welding operations Operate electron beam welding equipment per build instructions, drawings, and process procedures Ensure adherence to required weld parameters and quality standards for critical components Document work accurately and maintain traceability throughout production cycles SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:Under limited supervision:Weld Cleaning and Preparation Clean and prepare weld joints using approved procedures Load and unload components into vacuum chambers and fixtures Monitor weld chamber vacuum levels and equipment status Adjust weld parameters and positioning based on part specs and material behavior Welding & Production Flow Perform electron beam welds on nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, and titanium Coordinate with leadership and engineering when deviations or anomalies arise Assist in tracking production flow and meeting department throughput targets Quality Assurance Check and inspect work at in-process and final checkpoints as per documented weld procedures Visually examine and inspect work in-process for conformance as required – i.e., using Fillet Gauges Promote and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations Record, verify, and review results for product requirement and/or conformance Input all build data and accurately voucher time and materials into manufacturing software system GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment daily Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers Willingly performs other duties as trained and able SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not Applicable EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required 3–5 years in welding, machining, or special processes related to precision metal joining or cutting Prior experience with EB welding or vacuum-based manufacturing processes CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, & REGISTRATIONS: Not Applicable QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS: Must have: Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions & exercise proper judgment and discretion Ability to understand, track, organize, and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects Ability to effectively communicate and interact diplomatically with employees, customers, and associates Ability to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed Ability to read, interpret, and understand all drawings, routers, and process specifications Ability to meet production and quality performance metrics regularly and consistently Ability to learn and accurately use company computer software programs as related to role Ability to work independently while making good, sound, and timely decisions Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc. Proficient writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak in English and be understood; able to follow instructions Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, screens, etc. Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties Ability to uphold and comply with the company Mission, Safety and Quality Policies PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 70% of time Bending, reaching outwards and above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 30% of time WORK ENVIRONMENT: Job activities are generally performed in a lighted, temperature-controlled, and well-ventilated factory environment.
