job description has been revised Job Summary: Monitors, maintains and repairs Erlanger's Electronic monitoring systems Education: Required: Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable experience, service, or factory training acceptable. Preferred: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Experience: Required: Five years progressive experience as Journeyman Electrician or Electronic Technician or Fire Alarm Technician. Preferred: Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Journeyman's Electrician License required and recognized by the City of Chattanooga or NICET Certification. Preferred: N/A Department Position Summary: Performs highly skilled work under minimal supervision. Must be capable of computer programming and electronic circuit design. Has primary responsibility for computer programming, electronic design, maintenance, repair, and calibration of sophisticated computerized electronic equipment. Must document work to meet JCAHO requirements, development and presentation of electrical equipment in-service for Engineering personnel. Assists with technical evaluation of new equipment, and investigation of incident reports on equipment in areas of responsibility. Knowledge of electronic circuit design, computer programming, and troubleshooting/problem solving skills. Ability to read and understand schematic drawings. Ability to troubleshoot solid state equipment to component level and repair. Good knowledge of hospital policies, federal, state, and local laws/regulations pertaining to areas of responsibility. Ability to train others in proper operation and application of computerized electronic equipment.
