JOB DESCRIPTION

CMCA Integrated Systems Limited, a specialist engineering company for the global defence sector is looking to grow its engineering team with a number of mechanical, electronics and electrical positions opening.
We are seeking highly motivated, experienced and adaptable individuals to join our small team and contribute to the successful design, development and delivery of advanced defence equipment.
All functions are office based at a single site within County Durham [DL15] and the candidates would commute from within the north east and Durham region.
The role will cover electronic analogue and digital circuit design and development, PCB design and software design.
The candidate will be responsible for designing sub systems and complete products and will prepare design and production documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement. Design for manufacture and service is important as is the requirement to support the product through manufacture and into the field .
The current development activities cover hybrid power generation and distribution, energy storage and renewables, environmental control design and larger integrated platforms such as integrated containerised systems.
The role will be customer facing to include engineering reviews and technical support.
The working week is Mon-Thurs 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am - 2pm

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Electrical / Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field(s) required.
Must have a strong background in electronic design.
Experience in Autodesk suite is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft project.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom products to defined written requirements and legislation.
  • Work closely with supply chain to outline product bills of materials and select suitable components.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to develop the product for manufacture.
  • Work with the Quality department and Support to outline quality and engineering processes to improve product reliability and overcome obsolescence.
  • Integrate with customer engineering teams to deliver a project on time, to specification and within budget.
