SUMMARY

We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team at Wi-Com Solutions in Ottawa. This role is an in-office role based at our Ottawa location.

Tasks:

  • Inspect products to determine the requirements for repair
  • Install electronic equipment
  • Repair electronic equipment
  • Inspect and test electronic equipment and assemblies
  • Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power or specially designed tools
  • Diagnose and locate circuit, component and equipment faults
  • Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning
  • Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment and assemblies
  • Calibrate products using hand tools
  • Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Provide customer service

Job Duties:

  • Install, configure, and test two-way radios, base stations, antennas, and repeaters in both mobile and fixed applications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using diagnostic tools such as signal analyzers, service monitors, and specialized programming software.
  • Conduct firmware updates and adjust configuration settings on digital and analogue radio equipment.
  • Perform basic network configuration and integration for IP-based radio systems and VoIP-enabled devices.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, circuit diagrams, and service manuals to guide installations and repairs.
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support to clients, assist with equipment setup, and document service and repair activities.
