Description

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician III to join our team at Eielson, AFB, Alaska. This is an advanced level position that will provide technical support operations across a wide array of aircraft and missions. Typical duties include: laying out, fabricating, and assembling electronic components following predetermined methods and criteria; adjusting, repairing, and modifying systems, working from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and diagrams; repairing and/or replacing malfunctioning units as directed; setting up and operating standard electronic testing equipment; using hand powered and unpowered tools and simple machine power tools to fabricate electronic components; and performing related job duties as required. The duties and requirements listed below are not mutually exclusive.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Welding certification/qualification 3 years’ experience
  • Proven experience as a mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components.
  • Aptitude in using various hand tools & precision measurement tools
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to observe safety and security procedures
  • Must be a team player
  • Demonstrate good hand and eye coordination
  • Understand specific work order flow
  • A high school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during the daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time; physically able to push vacuum cleaner for extended periods; ability to lift 25 to 30 pounds

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and must meet all requirements for a flight-line driving permit
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting, maneuvering, and carrying ACTS/ACMI pods in a variety of environments, including shop, warehouse, bay, and flight-line
  • Must be Climb Certified or ability to obtain said certification
  • Reside near or be willing to relocate to the vicinity of Fairbanks/Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting routine inspections of equipment and vehicles
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Welding, designing, cutting and shaping metal
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
  • Comply with NMS safety standards
  • Defines requirements and specifications for equipment.
  • Optimizes equipment performance for efficiency and capacity.
  • Ultimately responsible for implementing/expanding/managing maintenance and “Reliability” of systems and equipment to continuously reduce downtime and improve site production performance.
  • Equipment installation, upgrades, and dependability issues, and leads or assist in troubleshooting processes or equipment issues.
  • Uses hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches daily
  • Diagnose and take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate basic and some advanced technical knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and devices, interpret circuit diagrams to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents, as well as demonstrate knowledge in the use of test instruments such as Oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters, and computer control equipment and analyzers
