Description
Description Mechanical/electrical assembly of very small components to create highly reliable precision instruments. Follow written and/or verbal instructions and read drawings. Soldering experience needed to mount components such as transistors, diodes, resistors, and integrated circuits onto printed circuit boards. Solder using a microscope and use various hand tools and equipment including a handheld digital volt meter. Operate computers to access SDS’s and perform time keeping duties. Employee may be asked to perform other duties as required. Essential Functions: · Solder components and wires to PWB assemblies. · Build cabling. · Assembling & wiring test boxes. Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED. Able to pass requirements to be certified to MIL, NASA and/or J-STD level after training. Experience: Circuit board soldering experience is a plus. Be familiar with general assembly procedures. Other: Must be able to work under a microscope. Ability and willingness to periodically work with hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, prints, and electronic schematics. Able to identify electrical components such as resistors, diodes, capacitors, LEDs and transistors. Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to work with very small parts. Pays attention to detail. Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Willing to work overtime and/or weekends as required.
Responsibilities
The Electronics Assembler will perform mechanical and electrical assembly of small components to create precision instruments. Responsibilities include soldering components to printed circuit boards and assembling wiring for test boxes.
