ELECTRONICS ENGINEER - 4 DAYS ON SITE - CUMBERNAULD - PERMANENT

Based in Cumbernauld, ESS’s client is a highly successful organisation, part of a leading global technology company opening a brand new production facility. They are at the forefront of the design and manufacture of next generation measurement and instrumentation equipment, such as Gas Analysis products, including Gas Chromatographs, Process Gas Analysers, and Laser Gas Analysers. The business is enjoying some serious growth and about to open a new facility in Cumbernauld and transfer production from another European site to Scotland.
The Electronics Engineer reporting to the Electronics Manager will be responsible for developing innovative electronics design solutions for Emerson’s diverse range of products. The role will also include sustaining existing products.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or related subject, with ideally around 5 years experience in electronic design
  • Practical experience in analogue, digital and mixed circuit design
  • Practical experience in board bring up and debug using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Strong and versatile technical problem solver
  • Experience of design for signal integrity and EMC
  • Practical experience in the use of Schematic and PCB layout design tools

Responsibilities
  • Provide innovative and robust electronic design solutions to product requirements
  • Review and critique electronic design solutions developed by other team members
  • Ensure that the electronic components of the product design are integrated into a robust final solution including management of sub-contractor partners where required (PCB fab, board build, component sourcing)
  • Work with the chosen contract manufacturer and internal colleagues as appropriate to transfer the electronic product design to manufacturing
  • Creation and maintenance of specifications and Bills of Material
  • Develop and execute the required verification and validation activities needed to demonstrate the electronics design has met specification
  • Estimation of project timescales and labour & material costs
  • Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed
