About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to join our Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program based at VIC-Richmond, reporting to the Engineering Team Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
As the Electronics Engineer, you will help to deliver a number of capability enhancements to Software and Hardware systems to modify existing design for a new capability on mission product and test equipment on the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive electronic system and/or equipment requirements, define the test requirements and participate in system design and requirements reviews
  • Develop candidate electronic solutions against requirements including their optimisation and present the solution in design reviews
  • Translate electronic system/equipment design into a manufacturable product and incorporate design for manufacture factors
  • Undertake the integration and validation of the electronic system and/or equipment design including contributing to the integration and validation plans, procedures and reports
  • Utilise electronic test tools effectively to undertake test, integration and verification including diagnosing problems and analysing results
  • Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, product safety & quality, risk management, and Safety, Health and Environment

About YOU

  • Electronic engineering or technology degree qualified or equivalent experience and satisfying the requirements for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia (preferably with CPeng).
  • Experience in electronic circuit design, integration and test
  • Experience with RF systems (desirable)
  • Experience in PCB design, familiarity with Altium Designer tool (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and contribute in a cross-functional team environment while ensuring specific responsibilities are achieved.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different stakeholders
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
